Nova Scotia invites Express Entry candidates

On January 19, 2021, Nova Scotia has invited the immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Labour Market Priorities Stream.

 

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) did not reveal the number of invitations in this draw.

The Labour Market Priorities stream is attached with the federal Express Entry. It also suggests that the invited applicants will have their valid profiles in the Express Entry System.

This draw can invite candidates from designated occupations such as a financial officer under National Occupation Classification (NOC) code 1114. In the previous draws, this stream has invited programmers, media developers, nurses, and automotive industry workers.

The purpose of inviting the candidates from the selected occupations is to fill the labour shortage in the province. This can ensure the proper labour force, and a growing economy of the province as well.

To receive an invitation from this province, the candidates must have received a Letter of Interest from Nova Scotia Express Entry. The invited candidates will also have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria for work experiences.

To apply for the provincial nomination, the applicants are required to provide a reference letter from the employers, and they must possess at least 4 years of skilled work experience as financial officers. The candidates also need to have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 9 or above in English.

The invited candidates can apply for their applications till February 18, 2021.

Express Entry

The invited candidates are expected to be from the Express Entry, as the labour stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system. Express Entry is the primary immigration application management system for Canada. It manages the three primary immigration streams of Canada; the streams are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

 

The applicants in the PNPs are given points that are based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The applicants are given points on the human capital characteristics such as age, education, skilled work experience, and language proficiency in either English or French. The candidates with the highest CRS score are invited to apply for provincial nomination or Canadian permanent residence.
