Alberta PNP draw CRS falls to 360 in recent

Alberta has released the details of the second draw that was held in January. According to the released details, on January 28, 2021, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issued 100 invitations to the Express Entry candidates.

The invitations were issued to those invitations who had a minimum 360 score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The invited candidates are eligible to apply for provincial nomination under the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

In order to be eligible for this provincial nomination, the candidates should be entered into the Express Entry system.

Express Entry is the primary immigration application management system for Canada. It manages the three primary immigration streams of Canada; the streams are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

The applicants in the PNPs are given points that are based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The applicants are given points on the human capital characteristics such as age, education, skilled work experience, and language proficiency in either English or French. The candidates with the highest CRS score are invited to apply for provincial nomination or Canadian permanent residence.

After the applicants apply, the IRCC then specifies the final decision regarding immigration application, and later sends them a confirmation for the permanent residence.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

The applicants in the Express Entry system can receive provincial nominations from not only Alberta but from the other provinces that have Express Entry aligned system. Only the main requirement is to have work experience in the eligible occupations of the specific provinces that support the economy of that particular province.

On November 1, 2020, the government expanded the number of occupations that are not qualified to apply for a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) in Alberta. Notwithstanding, competitors who got a Notification of Interest on or after November 1, 2020, can be chosen through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, regardless of whether they are working in an occupation that the government won’t handle an LMIA for.

Alberta was permitted to give 6,250 designation authentications in 2020, because of COVID-19, Alberta decreased their portion to 4,000 selections. These designations were given by June 2020. This is the reason there were no draws for the second 50% of the year. The quantity of commonplace selections dispensed to Alberta for 2021 has not yet been unveiled.
